Heat treatment is used to improve the colour and clarity of gemstones. Unheated stones are those that have never been subjected to high temperatures. For astrological purposes, unheated stones are strongly preferred as they are considered more potent. Unheated stones also command a significant price premium in the collector market.

How do I verify a gemstone before buying?

Always ask for: (1) the original lab certificate — not a photocopy; (2) a live WhatsApp video call showing the stone under different lighting; (3) certification confirmation that the treatment status matches what is stated. Never pay before you are 100% satisfied.

What is the minimum carat weight for astrological effect?

As a general rule, the minimum recommended carat weight is 1/12th of your body weight in kilograms. For example, if you weigh 60 kg, the minimum is 5 carats. However, the quality (clarity, colour, origin, treatment) of the stone matters more than size alone.
